You like Double or Single?

I know some of you hardcore Ducatisti do not like the 899s double sided swing, i have good news. If you're that style conscious the 1199s single swing will fit perfectly.

BUT

its heavier and you'll look like a jackass. ;)

I hated the 999 when it was released due to the major change to the front (lights) and the double sided, and thought the same when I heard the same for the 899. However, after seeing this bike in the flesh and reading the reviews I went for a test ride, deposit is down and awaiting a delivery date. The bike looks far better than I had imagined with the double arm and handles like a dream..

So for me the double works on this bike.

What is wrong with the 999, I actually like the single headlights but not so much the double though. Still a dream bike of mine.
I don't care much about what the swing arm looks like, double or single. It matters to me more that it is contributing positively to the performance of the bike. It would be complete style over substance to switch out the 899's swing arm for the 1199's. Not worth it to me.
Oddly enough, the 999 is my second favorite Ducati behind the 899. The DSSA doesn't bother me at all. I've always considered the 999 the best Ducati superbike. It's certainly the most successful race bike they made, winning 3 WSBK titles with three different riders.

Agree it was a great race bike, but when it came out I personally didn't like the looks, it was a big change from the previous models which from the 916 shared the single SSSA and the side by side headlights, wasn't too keen on the squared can too. At the time a mate had a 996 in Highland Spring colours and I loved that bike. The 999 was a massive visual change which grew on me over time, but never had the same attraction to me as the previous and later models.
