Am I safe in assuming that windscreens made for the 1199 will fit the 899?
I am looking to pull the trigger on a magical racing windscreen.

How did you get the two front bolts off? Even the 848 was fiddly but you could get your hands just in to hold the well nut.
Had to remove the nose.. which thus includes removes both sides.. Was also up to other things regarding the front, so let a few projects stack up before enduring it again. (first time was to replace High Beams, which overall was a PITA!) Overall for the windscreen, not too bad, if you need some hints of which bolts and where, let me know!

My Puig was for an 1199, and ift my 899 perfectly.

Have someone lightly pull at the bottom of the cowling near the bottom of the "V" shape to allow room for those rubber nuts to come out. Then glue them onto the new windshield and have someone pull again as you slide it down. I didn't have to remove the nose.

Could you please confirm what size torx wrench is needed to remove the windscreen? My dark screen has just been delivered and I have nothing that fits. Thanks

You need a precision one. 3.5 I think. It's small and don't come in normal kits

I didn't realize those little rubber things that hold the screw in place weren't attached to the windscreen. I pulled the old one out and both fell into the headlight. What a pain fishing them out. But after all said and done it looks awesome. I did the zero gravity sr smoked.

Spend half the day taking off the fairing etc.. only to find the new dark screen doesn't fit. So [email protected]£$%* off!!! Tried refitting several times and refitted the original screen to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. Comparing the two and they are different shapes! When fitted theres around 60mm gap along the sides between the bottom windscreen screws to the mirror screws. At lease I now know how to take her fairing and cowling off.

Bummer! Which one did you get? I thought screens were the same as 1199 as on all websites they are same part numbers.

Powerbronze. I also thought they would be the same. Don't know if I can be arsed to order another and do it all again.
Ha! Sounds like you're a bit like me! I always end up scratching something or losing nuts and bolts to add to the pain.

Just looked at their website and says for both (sorry for stating the bloody obvious!).....bit rubbish. By the time you send it back, it'll cost you another £20 probably. :(

Email from Powerbronze...

Hello,

I am sorry to hear that the screen doesn't fit properly. Please send it back to us for a full refund, including the return postage cost.

We have removed the 899 from the listing while we investigate as our local Ducati dealer assured us the screen fitting was the same as the 1199.

Kind regards,

Powerbronze UK

So, it only cost me time and a small scratch...

So I try installing my windscreen today. Taking off the screen was a breeze. As I go to put it back on, the two lower screw by the nose is not catching onto anything. I realize the top two screws have rubber backings but I don't recall the bottom having anything. Plus it's behind the LCD display even if there was. Can someone help please?
