I don't have a Ducati but this is a thread on another forum regarding 899 throttle sticking. Hopefully no one here has that issue in the future but just in case.

Panigale 899. WARNING. Throttle sticking!
Similar happened twice with mine so far, I've put a couple of threads on regarding it. My throttle didn't seem to stick open but everything else re the gear indicator and EBC. Still waiting for a call from the dealer that the replacement gear position sensor has arrived. This seems to be a common fault, so maybe a recall when they can sort the problem with the sensors!

Reviving this thread. After receiving my bike back after an engine replacement, recently the throttle has been sticking. So far it has happened 4-5 times and the behavior has been consistent. The first ride in the morning, as soon as I shift into 3rd and then let off the throttle, the bike keeps accelerating. It freaked me out.. Is it the gear shifter?

Sounds like a crook potentiometer in the handle or a bad stepper motor at the throttle body, either way have your dealer pick it up and diagnose it properly.
Don't ride it to them, sticking throttle is a safety hazard, not only to you but for others….
