Bikes aren't too bad here...in comparison to cars (singapore is the worst at 100% registration tax with RTD (right to drive) licence being about US$50,000!)....there is 37% registration tax here so i paid HK$190,000.....US$25,000....they increased the price after i bought by US$1000 because they got it wrong!! There is no VAT or sales tax here.
If you buy a bike for the track, you do not have to register so you pay NO tax. So the Superleggera which is about US$104,000 on the road would be US$65,000 for track use only.
Swings and roundabouts, as we say.
Accessories are ok but any performance parts, as with any vehicle you buy worldwide, whether car or bike, if something goes wrong which they have not installed it will invalidate the warranty. I'm sure Akras will be ok if they fit them and do the remap etc.
Its not as restricted as I probably made out. They love their accessories here in HK.....shiny, shiny!
In other words they want me to buy my Termis from them!!
My bike was US$17,200 value with tax of US$6,000 on top. I can live with that!
