I've loved the TechSpec Snake Skin on my CBR, but don't really like the look of the black on the red tank.

As an alternative I've been looking at clear Stomp Grips, which blend in much better, but don't have any experience with that brand. Anything to be aware of or any other options I should consider?

I've used stomp grip on my sv650 and r6, works extremely well with leather- bit does wear the finish/color on your pants. No damage though. If you decide to ride in jeans, it can get a little uncomfortable.... Though I'll be putting the stomps on mine :)

I've had stomp grips on all of my bikes over the years. Never had to be curious about any other brand, they work very well.

One word of caution though, if you get the clear, it will yellow over time (years) so just plan on replacing clear eventually if you care that much.

I had the tech spec snake skin as well I find them less abraisive than the stompgrips. My friend who has the stompgrips said they chewed up his leathers and jeans and Ive seen the wear. The snake skin does the same just less but i think all tank grips eventually eats up your pants material.

I actually don't mind the black pads on the tank it gives it a nice contrast. But it all depends on the riders taste.

IMHO I had the stomp grip but didn't work well for me. Mine was opposite of everyone else's as far as grip goes with my leather suit. My jeans grip better on stomps than my leathers! Snake skin grips better for me but just like you I don't want black on white. At least not on my 899! It's too pretty to be covered up with anything!

I have the 1199 TechSpec's Snake Skin Grips installed on my 899. I think they are great and look fantastic on the white.

Best thing about them is they are easy to remove and come off cleanly.

I just ordered that same tank protector, and was thinking about those grips. When you get a chance could you please add some pics of different angles, and a bit farther away? I have the arctic white, so this is the perfect comparison for me. Thanks!

I just ordered as well! I had bought the Ducati clear tank protector but after reading comments about it turning yellow over time and not sticking well, I'm glad I chose this set!

Ha! I have the Ducati clear protector on right now, well about half on, since it doesn't stick well. Can't wait to get it off and replaced with the new one.
