Hey Fellow Sydney Riders,

I'm thinking we use this forum as a way of meeting up, organizing rides and sharing information together for those of us in Sydney, Australia. So if you have a ride planned and want to invite more Sydney riders (all levels) post here.

I'll be going on a ride to Mac Pass (Robertson) on the 2nd of February with a few other riders (2 on Ducati Monsters and a learner on a Kawasaki ZXR300). If your interested in joining, see the details below.

When: 2nd February 2014
Ride to: Mac Pass (Robertson)
Meet up: Heathcote McDonald's
Time: 9:30am

Also send me a PM and i'll give you my mobile number to contact me on.

Cheers,
Oni.

Hi Oni,
Yes that sounds like a perfect idea to get together on the road, next time i organize something, i will do exactly what you have done on the post,
unfortunately, i have a few weekends booked out due to family and bucks night commitments so might be a month before i get to get out for another proper ride.

just a quick question but, i recently had my first service done and all checked out fine, but after doing a 500 km run 2 weekends ago and a another 200km around and about home, i looked at my coolant viewing glass and discovered to have nothing in there, after a struggle getting the fairings off, i found that the bottle was bone dry, radiator still had some in there but the other storage was dry,
just wanted to know if you or anyone had this similar problem, i mean i do expect it happen but only 700 kms after a service,
this is my first new road bike so i am a little nerv about this sort of stuff,
i did notice on sunday while sitting at the lights my temp got up to 104, i understand it was hot, but have you seen this temp before, while at the lights.
Cant wait to hit the bends and mountains with you, i hope i can keep up!!!!!
ha ha ha (average rider here).

I haven't checked my coolant level yet but i took it to guys i know well for my service and they ensured everything was topped up to the correct levels along with the oil changes.

As for the temperature. It's normal to go up to 104. I've been up to that many times sitting in traffic. While your moving its normally around the 85-95 mark off memory. My R1 runs up to 110 at times (its a really hot bike to ride compared to the 899).

For anyone interested i should be riding again this Sunday as the weather looks good (cloudy but hot).

To any 899 riders in Sydney interested in joining a ride this weekend.

I have a group meeting at Thornleigh McDonalds at 8:30am on Sunday for a ride to the Old Road (Old Pacific Highway). If anyone is interested just send me a PM and i'll give you my mobile.

So far we have a red 899, red 848, 2 Monsters, an 1199s, Buell 1125cr and possibly a Yamaha of sorts lol. We plan to do a few photos as well at the tunnel ;)

Hope to see some of you Sydney riders available.

Do any of you guys do track days at Eastern Creek? I'm thinking about doing the one on the 29th June which should give me roughly a month to familiarise myself with the bike before I hit the track. If so, would be good to catch up!

Yeah a few of us do regular track days and have track bikes. I don't do much track in the winter time as I'm normally off snowboarding.

If I wasn't catching up with a mate from OS Sat night I'd be there on my 848. I'm on the Central Coast and will be keen for any rides up the northern end of town in the future.
