Is there much difference? No 'numb bum'? :)

There was no numb bum, but couldn't tell you the difference as fitted the comfort seat the day I bought it.
It is comfy and gives you a little more leg room. It you've got issues with the original I'd recommend the comfort seat.

Ha! No issues....
Very nice seat
It has an extra 30mm of thickness
And is allot softer than the std seat

I have one for sale . But I'm in Australia
Selling only because I'm short

I will be in Sydney on 1st may.
Shame that we have to pay extra for these .. I'd expect this to be a standard option in an expensive bike like 899 !
I saw on another post the seat is +30mm over standard. Is it very noticeable or does it squish when sat on? I am JUST about fitting on the bike on slight tip toes but not flat (5'7") and am worried the extra padding will push me up.

I'm 5'10" and I can flat foot no problem with the comfort seat, and that's taking my weight of and decompressing the rear suspension. With my weight on the bike I can flatfoot with a bend in the knees as well -from both the foam and the suspension compressing. I'm not terribly heavy either @ 185lbs

The problem is that the seat material is nice and grippy for jeans so they end up riding up a little so it looks like your wearing Capri pants after a bunch of stops. Then you gotta stand up and pull them back down...:p the seat is plenty comfy though.
I too had the comfort seat put on Day 1, so can't compare to the standard seat. I like the seat a lot. I don't find it makes my jeans ride up. I wear Dainese Kevlar jeans and they are great with the seat.
Had the comfort from day 1, and liked it. The std seat came with it in a box, so a few miles in and I decided to have a go on it.
The comfort seat is never going back on now. The std seat is comfy enough in leather suit, but the fact that it is that tad bit lower makes me feel like I am "in" the bike rather than "on" it, and I like that feeling. Also the added effect of less wrist pain. :)

I am 180cm (5'11) tall and flat foots the comfort seat.
is normal to get both seats? or do you have to pay for them?
I can get some before/after shots if you guys want? I'm 5'7" and mostly leg... friend has the comfort seat on his 1199 and I have the stock seat on my 899. I could swap them quick one day and get some shots as far as flat-footing and what not if anybody would like some.
I'm going to get both but they are sold separately. I can also ask the wife to try and flat foot on the bike with the seat since she's 5`7"

Ok, so this is my lady on the my bike with the comfort seat. She corrected me with her height, she's 5'6" not 5'7" so keep that in mind.

If you want to see someone 5'7" maybe XCLR8TN would still be willing to post a pic.
