Seat Cowel colour a bit off?

9225 Views 16 Replies 12 Participants Last post by  pete899
So I picked my white 899 and in putting the seat cover on the bike, the color seems just a little bit off. I'm going by garage lighting at the moment, but it looks a shade off.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Had the same problem with my 848, others have with their 899 as well. It's common.
My first Cowl was a little bit off.. a few days later the freeway decided to take that one away from me, the second didn't have the same color issue.. seems to be luck of the draw. :\
Same issue here,
Under lights , it's more of a bronze shade of colour
But once in daylight it's normal white
Yes, they seem to be a bit yellow. The dealer here in HK got 3 in and 2 were off colour. Might be better off with carbon one.
Mine is a match. No problems here in Oz.
@Winter freeway sadly took mine last Wednesday as well. :( @ajctraveler Color on the new one is pretty good; not perfect but still good.
My buddies flew off a few days ago too. I wonder if they aren't fully clipping in. I'll be sure to tugg on mine before going riding!
Maybe they aren't hearing the quiet little "click" the rear seat makes when it latches fully. I can barely hear it inside my garage when every thing is pin drop silent.
@kusher, gotta hate that.. I swung my leg over back in the garage, and everything had disappeared from the storage area minus the tools. thank goodness they decided to stick around.. Now I obsessively ensure I hear a click, then I give it a push back before feeling assured it is secure.

Went to exchange mine today, same story. In dim lights the colour is pretty off. With brighter light (flash) it looks almost fine. I'm going to see how it looks in daylight tomorrow or Saturday, but I can't believe how poor the quality control is.

i was about to say the same thing. :D
i can see the difference in the picture without flash. I'd probably take that back to them and explain that such a shade difference is unacceptable.

It's a short story..

I didn't like the red, so I had them coated black.

Yeah, I'll be bringing it back and I'll try to order one from another local shop. Just hope I don't have to go through too many of these stupid things to find one that's right.
The colour on yours isnt as far off as it is on my red one... now ive recovered the bloody thing from the fast lane of the motorway........ crap!!!!!
