Rear brake reservoir fluid colour

I've now covered around 1400 miles on mine and noticed that the reservoir fluid has rapidly been getting progressively darker to the point now it is almost black.

To me this is not good as I would / have changed the fluid on other bikes when it got to this stage of colour. I would expect the fluid to be alot lighter in colour at this early stage.

All I can assume is the exhaust heat is discolouring it.

It has had its' first service and nothing was changed / mentioned.

Any thoughts ?

Im using a demo bike at the moment as mine is awaiting a new engine and I noticed the same darker colour fluid
When i mine was coming up to its first service due date i noticed the same. After i installed my Rizoma Reservoirs, i haven't had that issue. Stays a nice golden colour now. I'm blaming it on the fluids the shop put in it.
Might have to pump some better fluid through the system then :(
Heat and light are what cause the fluid to turn dark. Ducati puts pretty decent fluid in them, but not racing-quality fluid. I use Motul RBF600 in both my bikes and car.
Yeah I've used RBF600 in the clutch slave cylinder i changed but light wouldnt turn it that fast so must be extra heat in the area.
My dealer filled with Motul RBF600 (they only use Motul for everything) and at 2,100 miles, my rear brake fluid was also dark. I sucked it out with a baster and refilled with more Motul RBF600. Seems to me heat is the single largest factor for the color change. My 848 was the same.

yeah I thought it would probably be the heat

Mine was one of oil leak batch . It original went in for a non starting electrical fault after just completing its 1st service . This was isolated to some water getting into a sensor after washing the bike. Whilst at the dealers they noticed a small oil leak from the actual crank case .
The bike was kept in for a chap from head office to look over it . They decided to go for a new engine and it took 3-4 weeks . The good people at Parkinson's Uk loaned me a white 899 for the duration of the work being carried out.
The new engine was broke in at the factory on a dyno as to save me the trouble of doing it again.
