Hey Guys,

Wondering if anyone here knows if the rear brake lever can be adjusted to sit a little lower than the standard position ?

My right ankle has limited movement so i need the lever to be a little lower.

I had no issues doing this on my zx10r but im not sure if i can do it on the Duc.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Yes it can! There is a locknut which can be loosened the change the length of the plunger rod going into the rear master cylinder, and then you have to adjust the bump stop on the brake lever to compensate for the adjustment. Make SURE when you're done that you have a little free play in the lever so that there is not constant pressure being applied against the plunger, or you will end up with a melted and warped rear brake rotor and could even have your rear wheel lock up on you!

Here's a picture of the assembly off the bike where you can clearly see the two locknuts. The one on the plunger rod is inside of the return spring so you can't necessarily see it when you just look at it on the bike.

Thanks mate.

Had a look at it this morning.

Am i right in assuming that the entire assembly needs to be removed to make this adjustment?

Like i said, i had a quick go/look this morning, but there doesnt seem to be much space to work with.

Thanks again.

It may be possible to do it on the bike, but I've always removed it, I think it's a lot easier that way.
