Soon i will be doing my first track day in my 899 after first service and termignioni installed.

Would you guys give me some advice on the setting for the Race Mode? What has worked for you in the Track? EBC, DTC and ABS? I have been trying the factory standard setting race mode and i do not feel comfortable.

Saludos.

DTC level 2 with the stock tires on the track, or level 1 if you switch to race tires.

ABS level 1 for the track, disables the rear ABS, eliminates the anti-lift up function and minimizes the front response to full lock-up prevention only.

EBC default is level 1, but you can experiment with that to see what works for your riding style, there's no right answer on that one. I personally preferred level 3 on my 1199, but it took me a while to get used to it because it gives you a lot less engine braking than normal so you have to compensate by using more brake. If you had more of a "back it in and square it off" riding style, you may prefer level 1 or even OFF to aid in getting the bike to pivot. With a smoother cornering style then you can get by with level 2 or 3. Try them to see what you like, do level 1 first, next session go to level 2, then next one level 3. Make sure you're not at the limit of your braking skills, but back off a bit so you can perceive the difference and not scare yourself by going too hot into the turns without having the extra engine braking.

Just be careful with the higher ABS settings on the track, it's not just the anti-lift up but the response of the front ABS that is optimized for the track on level 1. If you are braking hard for a turn and the surface is a little uneven or bumpy, it's normally to get little "chirp-chirp" skips from the front tire. A traditional/aggressive ABS setting can engage in that case, which is probably not what you want to have happen when you're in that situation. In level 1 the ABS will allow those little chirps to happen without engaging, but if there's a full lock-up it will stick kick in. That's why Ducati considers level 1 the "Track" setting. If you're a novice or early intermediate rider, you will not likely be braking that hard so it may not be an issue for you, but I wanted to specify that so someone who is an advanced rider knows what to expect.

Without the slipper I was using stock settings for race except for EBC being set to 3. Still had more engine braking than I liked. Now with a Yoyodyne slipper I did my last track day with it set to 3 and it didn't seem like enough engine braking, so I am going to try 2 next.
