So I picked my red 899 today & managed to put 120 miles on the clock. The first 20 or so I was nervous as f.... But the other 100 all I can say is wow. I love this bike it's so easy to ride once I got my confidence up. After a 2 year break from riding sports bikes it makes me question why did I leave it so long. As I've not racked up a lot of miles yet I can't give a great review, but first impressions are fantastic. I had the Ohlins shock fitted to help with my floor reach and what a difference I can get a good solid foot on the floor. The best part was hearing the bike with the termis fitted for the first time. All I can say is it sounds like thunder. If anyone is wondering whether to make the jump or not, after my experience it's a big FAT yes. P&H in Crawley? How much was the Öhlins setup out of interest? Hoping mine will be ready next week, still waiting on some of the carbon parts.

Yes it was P&h Crawley. Guys were great there, you getting yours from there as well? Well the Ohlins shock was £1100 fitted & they wanted an extra £100 for setup. I ordered mine early feb & was in last week but took them a while to add the extras

Great pics! Glad you had a nice day and are enjoying it :)

I'm still not sure what to do about the shock etc, can get balls of both feet down or one flat with bike still pretty much completely upright so may just leave it. Tried 1199 seat on it which did make a little difference so considering that but it seems awfully hard! Got 6 weeks ish to think about it!

Can't quite tell from pic but is that a Ducati tail tidy? Any chance of some close up pics please?

This is exactly how I was with the feet situation but I just didn't feel 100% comfortable having a bike like this & not being able to get a good footing on both feet, but that's just my opinion. So that's why I went for the shock option & also so that when I do start to use it on track etc I have the adjustability of the Ohlins.

It's an Evo tech tail tidy not the ducati one which I was originally going for but changed my mind after reading the threads on here.
Yep no worries I will get some more close ups tomorrow at some point. Already itching to get back out on it

No mine's coming from Laguna Performance in Ashford as I work for Laguna in Maidstone ;) Mine is due to be delivered Monday and it'll take a day to but all the parts on. Just hope I don't miss too much nice weather!
Nice, so have you got the option of adjusting the shock position like the 1199 or is it fixed?

Hi mate, it's such an amazing machine machine and like you said you built up confidence very quickly. You just ride round with the biggest smile on ya face constantly :) good choice in colour, enjoy today's ride.

I didn't even get to ride today was stuck in a traffic jam in London for 5 hours 👎. Was too late to go out when I got back. Gutted is not the word
