On Two Wheels: 899 Vs. MV 800 Review

Interesting but short review. Testers say that they are "not what they want in a sport bike" and that they are "the worst of both worlds."

Somewhat conflicting review compared to what is being said elsewhere.

Bike says it's the best sportbike that Ducati has ever made. I definitely trust their opinion more. They complain about the narrow tank...? Have they ever been on an 848/1X98? The new ergos are MUCH better. I really can't understand anyone who doesn't like this bike or wants more power. It's faster than a 999R and weighs less than a 1098. They claim it's the worst of both worlds, then immediately say it might be better than the 1199.... this right here is why I cancelled my subscription to Sport Rider. American motorcycle journalists are now completely irrelevant, and blindly repeat the mantra of "more power, more power". I only read Fast Bikes and Bike now, and occasional Performance Bike. British motorcycle journalism is far and away better than the American garbage permeating the industry now.

I still like when they refer to the 899 as the "gateway panigale" as if it's the bike you get when you cant afford or cant handle the power of the 1199. I guess they cant imagine that people would buy an 899 over the 1199 for any other reason.

Got to be one of the worst reviews I've seen, have they got a clue what they are talking about, contradictory or what!

Here is my review of the 899: I got this bike NOT for the power but how it looks. This bike in my opinion is one of the best looking bikes out right now.

Less is more! For goodness sakes. 99.9% of us don't need a 200hp fire breathing beast. I can honestly say I had way way way more fun on my Daytona than I ever thought about having on my S1k. It's the very reason I'm trading my s1 for the gateway panigale lulz.
Both bikes on the track:

899 Panigale

F3 800

Tell me about your emotions.
the dash on the MV is terrible....
