Morning all,
Any have experience with a custom vinyl decal or wrap on their bike? I would like to get something small and custom done just for the sides, nose, and tank of the bike. Not a complete wrap of ferring more like a large sticker or decal. I was concerned with bleeding of colors onto the white surface with long term exposure to the sun at work. Is this a concern I should have?

If you don't feel it's been an issue any suggestions as to a reputable custom vinyl decal or wrap shop would be appreciated. Thanks much for your time gents.

The below image is something I thought about duplicating for the sides,

Why do Marines always put the EGA on everything?

Just messing with you, Army here :p
In bred jar heads with no brain for change. ;) no but on a more serious note if I could get something like that on both sides covering the middle I am struggling with the idea of weather or not I want the anchor facing inboard towards the rider. If its on the collar of a uniform it's always inboard, but if its displayed or on a flag or decal the anchor should always be left facing. Decisions decisions haha

Yes please destroy a work of art with war decals...
You are too funny guy. I agree the Panigale is a beauty to look at but me asking about custom vinyl shops is no different than pro racers splashing an otherwise perfect machine with branding stickers all over it. Hideous in my opinion. I am looking for a bit of customizing, you should be happy it's not placing hash marks on the tank for body count like in WWII for planes shot down. ;)

Guess you should learn a bit about the country and service before saying "War Decals" Thanks for the opinion though.

Are you racing the bike? Is it a company race bike? Is it a bike sponsored by the US Marines? Pasting stickers is not customising. How many horses more are you expecting from the sticker?. Its not a machine to kill people so why paste death counts on it?

I'm quite familiar with the country, I am a US Citizen by the way. That still not in any way an excuse to destroy a Ducati.

It's you bike do what you will, but I hope you have it clear in your mind that you are destroying a work of art.

The good thing about art is that its's purely subjective. If the man/woman wants to put a logo/picture of something on their bike that has personal meaning to them, then that is the definition of personalisation and they have all the right to do what they want. I wouldn't condemn a person's design without seeing the results as it could be done in a tasteful manner.

At the end of the day it's his ride and he is free to do he wants to it.

PointmanUSMC - Make sure you post some after photos as i'd be interested to see the results.

How else would you change their mind other than saying something contrary?

My opinion: Nix the text, it's like a **** bumper sticker saying... Nix the tribal, that **** went out with the 90s... Clean simple logo... Just like the clean sexy lines of the Panigale!

What's with everybody (in general) today needing to convince others that their wrong in their own opinion or taste. Just because you have the right to say what you want, when you want, where you want doesn't mean you have the right to or should rain down on people whenever you get the chance.

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything. Especially when nobody asked for your opinion. The world is not black or white. In between there's indefinite shades of grey. Taste is subjective, not a matter of right and wrong. If he likes his own idea of customisation then that's none of your business. The man asked a question. If you cant answer it, then STFU and stop being a duche.

To the OP, I can't help you here. Sorry. I just needed to oppose against the negativism.

I appreciate all the opinions on the matter thanks for the responses gents. I would have to agree on the tribal image originally posted I am not sold on it. It was only the first item i found that was White/Red and related to the USMC. As I stated I don't have photoshop on my current rig and wouldn't mind incorporating an EGA(Eagle Globe Anchor) on the fairing somewhere for ideas. My main concern was bleeding of color from Vinyl decals or wraps onto the surface. Nothing fancy or too large

I have a vinyl 3m sticker on my car for over a year and it is very durable. It was very easy to take off and it didn't leave any residue. I guess, this is also good for what yuou really need, the store to where I got mine would maybe address your needs.

When you removed it did it come off in one nice big sheet? Did you have to use a heat gun?

Well, good thing about it is that all you have to do is find the edge of the sticker and peel it off. Heat gun will become necessary to tough portion like curve areas and the like. But, technically, overall, there's actually no need for you to use a heat gun. I guess, this is something I really appreciate about this. Easy to remove and no residue.

Well said, sir! I totally agree. Everyones taste is different. Just because you do not like something, does not mean that you are in the right.

Horses for courses.

Fabriicom is just voicing his opinion on the aesthetics of the bike not personally attacking the original poster.

Nothing wrong with that. Everyone has different tastes and this is a public forum so you are going to get a variety of reactions. As long as they are not insulting then it should be fine.

I personally can't imagine putting American military insignia on a new Italian super bike, just doesn't seem right to me but it's not my bike so good luck to the OP on getting it the way he wants. Enjoy.
