Well, after spending months on this forum -- and learning a ****-load, thanks to many of you -- it's time for me to post up the mods that are soon to be installed on my 899 by Ducati Indianapolis. Great location, great guys. I'll just post the pics and you can see for yourselves. (Cox radiator guards (red), couple of decals, and RHK slider/spools (all the way from Australia...tnx to seeing Oni's ride...bet he'll recognize some other crucial parts) are not shown.)

Going on Arctic White Silk...more pics to come. Thanks to all for sharing great thoughts, and posting such helpful pics. I am also having the RIDE Core System as well as RIDE Security installed, so will follow up on how that goes down the road.

Don't forget to post pics when all the bits are put on!

I need the 899 porn to satiate me in the meantime until I can get mine.

Don't I know it! I have held out for (literally) nine months obsessing about this bike, and have watched every video and looked at every picture I could find out there (and on here). It shouldn't be too long now, maybe 1 more week. Passenger peg hanger just got sent for black powder coat today, and after I get her into my hands, will be applying the Opti-Coat 2.0 (a bit nerve-wracked about that, but am ready to tackle it and know it will be rewarding in the end).

Promise I'll post pics of the experiment once it's done...and then...more dreaming, hints of carbon, tail tidy, Akrapovic or Termi exhaust...geez, this almost sounds like I'm talking on a sex line. Hahahahaha. Cheers, man.

Haha! I know exactly what you've been through! Lots of stuff to put on there, should be really nice looking when your done. It's more of a problem trying to NOT buy stuff if you ask me!

I think with the Opti-Coat 2.0 that the application is very forgiving. I did it and it was super easy, plus with the new formulation you can apply it over a previous application (per the discussion @ optimumforums) so it's that much more forgiving. I also think there was someone else here with a white bike that did the application.

I hear that, warlord! And thanks for sharing your experience with the Opti-Coat 2.0 -- yes, it was catekin that had also done it and posted pictures. I appreciate your point about being able to apply it again…my biggest worry is about high points, so wanting to make sure I get it on good and low.

With that, I'm planning on applying it literally on EVERY surface (including windscreen) except for the tires…LOL…since it's safe on everything but glass. Did you do the same? Any tips about what you used to do it except for the applicator and a shammy? Really appreciate any experience you had! Found out my date will be June 11th…getting so close.

Not much to say other than I cleaned and prepped the bike first and applied it to everything. Just used the applicator and some fresh microfiber towels... even did my dry carbon fiber helmet. Have enough left to do another 5 bikes easy.
