Ducati is adding two completely new managerial areas to the company. THe decision is meant to better sync the expansion of the brand to customers' growing needs.

The Sales department has been changed to Sales & Marketing, and it is now headed by Cristiano Silei. The Motorcycle Related Products department will be run by Diego Sgorbati.

Ducati also made a big move in the Corse department by appointing Gigi Dall'Igna as chief, reporting to CEO Claudio Domenicali directly. Dall'Igna's goal is to restore Ducati to its racing glory.

so what does this mean for us?
it might mean we get some more special edition Ducati bikes, would be cool if there was some special 899 model.
The big news for me (being a race fan) is Gigi going to Corse. He was instrumental in turning Aprilia into a powerhouse in SBK, and I think he will be a huge help to Ducati. Now that Ducati is returning an official team to SBK and has some good riders, hopefully we can see some productivity out of the 1199.
I think that people who follow racing will care about this info more. Its hard to tell if the other change will make much difference. Maybe we will notice some changes in marketing strategy, but likely it won't be that severe. Just a little info on what is going on behind the scenes at Ducati.
