Not sure how many of you track WSBK, but last week's races were quite a step forward for the Duc. It was the first race since the official factory effort took back control of the superbike racing program, and looking promising.
Davide Giugliano (former SSTK champ on the 1198) qualified 2nd and put in two 4th place finishes, beating out reigning champ Tom Sykes. Also, Chaz Davies on the other 1199R set a new race lap record at the island, demonstrating the bike's capabilities. So, both factory Ducs in the top ten, two top 5 finishes back to back in their first outing. I'm super excited about this season, and hoping for great results. I'm sick of hearing people talk about the 1199 as though it's a race failure (people LOVE to hate Ducati for some reason). This bike is only in it's second year of racing, and is doing better than the BMW was at this point in it's development. The S1000RR started competing in 09 and didn't get an SBK win till 2012. I bet Duc gets some this year.

P.S. I'm getting that Arai Giugliano replica helmet.... I have to have it.
