Hi folks,

I will have a testride within the next days at my local German dealer trying to find out if the 899 will be an option to add it to my Diavel.

I wonder if it would be possible to install the 1199 full LED Headlight?
Any suggestions?

I don't think it'll fit.

The 1199 headlight loosk more narrow.

they are cool but honestly the stock headlights are just fine and they look great too.

from the pictures i've seen of both it seems like the 1199 headlight is longer and might not fit in the 899 housing and might not be easy to modify the 899 to fit it. best thing to do will be getting dimensions of both.

Anyone know if this is possible yet? I saw anther thread surrounding using a 1199 bra (which seems to have fit?)

I really wish they wouldn't have removed so many of the amenities from the 899

Withstanding that it would work, I wouldn't mind spending the dough (once an 899 is in my possession, lol).

Interestingly enough - I've just found the below article for the "S" to Base swap for the 1199 which seems to work flawlessly.

If the fitment is the same, my assumption would be the swap would be identical as the 1199 base & 899 carry the same headlights.

Haha, well if I lived in the states this would be very easy to try.. unfortunately no 899 yet, and no money to waste on duty for a project that might not work..

Are the headlights really different dimensions? I may stop by the dealer and check this out.

dimensions are the same, but the real question is whether the 899 harness will work with the headlight.

Just found this post, with very detailed instructions on swapping from Base to S LED FOR the 1199.. IF the dimensions ARE the same, looks like it can be done.. Perhaps I'll give it a shot!

From DucatiParts-Online. They are fairly reputable, and i specifically asked about any blemishes or inoperability before placing the order. It has arrived and i can attest that there weren't any marks...but i haven't been able to test it with anything yet to know if the light actually works
