Hummm... Is it just me or ppl having trouble look thru the mirrors?

They're worthless.

Not just you. They look nice but are useless. You can't assume you are always going faster than everyone else. They are dangerous and if anyone has a good aftermarket solution please let us know.

Did you guys have the 848 or 1098? Now they were useless!!

In comparison to other SS bikes: They aren't that bad.

The mirrors are way better than my old 848 , besides , ride quick and concentrate on what's in front

Yeah you guys are tripping, these are light years ahead of previous Ducati SBK mirrors!!!

Just lift your elbow slightly and your good, you should know what's around you anyway or turn your head.

****, the old ones were so bad, even lifting your elbow out of the way, the mirrors vibrated so bad you couldn't make out an image anyway! These are glass smooth by comparison.

I never fully trust mirrors. For me, looking over my shoulder is the safest way.

yea i always do a head check and I'm always in the mindset that every car truck etc is out to get me.........

Guess Ill use the mirrors to see if im cool or not..haha

Yup, we shoulder check. Mirrors that work would still be nice.

But thats what shop windows are for

yup, i only see my elbows unless i moved my head around. Thinking about getting bar-end mirrors but i like the styling with the stock mirrors better

You're right there......the 848/1098/1198 mirrors make these ones look nearly useful!
I used to have to lift my arm up if I wanted to see anything directly behind........hence why i didn't spot the police car chasing me down on the last speeding ticket!

Agree....shoulder check is a habit.......i even do it when driving in the car.

Is this something that a lot of people stop doing? Interesting to know if this is still common practice or not. Complacency will get you in trouble.

After you pass your car driving test (in the uk) the first thing to go is 'feeding' the steering wheel' (only vicars and old people do this) and cross your hands?

It was ingrained into me when I was doing rider training. Everyone should never forget to perform this while riding.

I do both checking of mirrors and over the shoulder. Over the shoulder is a must for me. I have the chance to ride a 848 on and off once in awhile as i am a sub rider for my hubby 848. The mirrors on the 899 is far better compared to the 848. Haha.
