Hooked on Ducati's for life!

HI, I'm Mike, a new 899 owner. I have only been riding since Feb 2013, and started off with a Ninja 500R. Unfortunately, some kid decided to take that, and almost my life, away while making a U-Turn in a curve 35 feet in front of me. This was last May. After 9 months of recovery, I have jumped back in the saddle. First I bought a 2008 Suzuki DL1000 Dual Sport to cut my renewed teeth on. But, I couldn't get the thrill of a sport bike out of my mind... A few weeks later, after hearing the awesome sound of a tricked out 848 EVO, I went to my local Ducati dealer and asked for a test ride. With only a learners license in hand, I convinced them I was a serious buyer, and the manager agreed to let me take out their white 899 demo bike. After touring around for about 5 miles, behind the salesman on his Street Fighter, he then began getting our speed up to a fun level On the last corner headed back to the shop, I was leaned over and all over the throttle... I brought the front tire off the ground, all the while committed to the turn, and held this incredible acceleration until reaching third gear. I was instantly hooked, and could not stop grinning! It was so effortless, and very well behaved. This bike is so predictable and torquey, I just wanted to keep riding! So I bought one as soon as we got back inside Very happy to say I got a red one... Had to since it is my first Duc, haha. I plan on doing a lot of mods to my bike, and will begin posting the transitions here. I'm happy to be a part of this small, but elite community!
