Hi from wet and storm infested Kent

After a bit of a wait since October I just took delivery of my red 899 on Saturday. In typical British fashion it was throwing it down with rain and blowing a gale but it was delivered by van so it was straight in the garage.

This is my 5th Dook, having had 2 900 Superlights, a 900 Monster and a 748S (which was hit up the rear at a roundabout and written off). I test rode the 899 as soon as it arrived and that was it.. No.5 was ordered.

Mine has come with the free termi, up map and air filter package that us lucky Brits get if we buy before 31st Dec.

Have fitted a ducati alarm (insurance company insisted) and a seat hump. Just need a tail tidy and integrated tail light/indicators and some half decent weather to scrub the tyres in.

Can't give enough praise to Laguna Motorcycles in Ashford, Kent for cutting me a deal on accessories and clothing, fitting the performance kit free and delivering the bike for free. No money of list on the bike but thats always the way with new models... the free performance pack more than made up for that.

:D

Merry xmas everyone.

Pete

Top choice pal, picked mine up from Ducati Manchester in the dry on Friday, got caught out in the rain on Saturday though! Just want to ride it, roll on the good weather.....:D:D:D
Think we are all in the same boat in the UK - delivery taken in the last week, termi's ready to blast...probably the wettest winter in ages!

Xmas day might be clear pending where you are! Otherwise our time will come....
Yep its still blowing a gale down here at the moment. Rain doesn't bother me too much but doing an impression of a windsurfer does

I'm hoping to get out and do a few miles over the hols n enjoy the jealous looks:D:D:D:D

With you on that one, hoping for it to calm down so can get a few miles on the clock over the holidays
Same here. Had my red 899 for two weeks. 45 miles on the clock. Awesome sound from the termis. Pray for sun.

I'm in the same boat. Has her a month and only manage 75 miles on wet and crappy roads. Hoping for an early spring!!

Finally got the bike out yesterday and gingerly took the first few roundabouts to take the scary death shine off of the tyres.

I'm keeping to around 4500rpm in wet mode for the first 100 miles and it still pulls well. I love the noise the termi's make on the quick shift. A wicked little pop on each up shift. I'm still getting my head around riding with all these aids but after only 65 miles I know exactly why I'm back on a dook again. Absolutely love it!!!!!!!

Took mine out today for a cruise around Epping Forest. It handled the road perfectly....cannot wait to take this on a dry track!

I bet the roads up near hi beech are a bit interesting at the moment. I'm just over the bridge near bluewater and brands hatch so a track day is in the offing when the weather perks up

Yep I kept it in 'Wet' at first as saw some ice here and there but changed Up into 'Sport' on the journey back!

Brands is my local track too and also my favourite - can't wait to hear those Termi's open up there.
