I currently own a 2012 R1 which i will be trading in a little later this year, thought i'd join to see what all the fuss is about with the 899:p

On looks alone it wins hands down....

Hi Matt,

Yes, the 899 is a sexy beast but it also performs as well. All the reviews are spot on and it really is a riders bike, so easy to ride and trails through a corner like you wouldn't believe.

Thanks for the welcome boy's, and adeyrob Ducati Manchester is on my door step and ive resisted the temptation of visiting them. I just know that if i step through that door i will buy something really really expensive which till later this year i can't afford.....

Im looking at all options for my next ride as it may well be my last, (getting old:p) so i will be looking at the expected new revised R1, CBR1000rr and both the 899 and 1199..........

Ive already ruled out anything that Bmw make as they fall apart to easily even though ive ridden the s1000rr and it was fun also ruled out the gszr and zx10r...

Welcome to the forum Matt!

What is the main reason behind you wanting to trading in the R1 if you dont mind me asking?

Thank you for the welcome..

Thats a very good question especially as the R1 is such a great bike imo, with its flashed ecu its stupidly quick and looks/sounds amazing..

I guess i always knew when i bought it that it wasn't going to be my last bike especially as i accepted that the current R1 is getting a little old now. Its the heaviest supersport and probably the biggest and im talking litre and down. I had decided that i want one of the lightest, smallest, fastest and technically advanced supersports available.. I would be more than happy if later this year when Yamaha release their new version of the R1 to buy another one if it loses weight, gets stream lined and has added bhp, although the extra bhp isn't a must but would be nice......
