I test rode an 1199 last weekend but at 42 and for street riding it's probably a bit too much for me in terms of rideability and power. After reading all the positive reviews of the 899 I think I am about to put down a deposit but have to wait until late May for delivery. Even though my last 4 bikes have been litre superbikes I think an 899 will be great.
If anyone in Melbourne Australia has an 899 and is going for a ride anywhere near Mentone over the weekend I'd love to see one in the flesh (beach road is a nice ride...).
I've already got some alternative ideas in mind for those red wheels.
