Hello fellow 899'ers. What kind of gas mileage are you all getting? Avg Cons. is showing 44.5 for me, but the low fuel light came on at only 107 miles. I filled it to the same full level today, and only 2.51g went in the tank. How many miles have you gone after the yellow light came on? I'm still in break-in mode, so I should be getting descent mpg.

I've gone 25 miles with the fuel light on. The light tends to come on really early now or when ever it wants. I have 2500 miles on the bike at the moment.

You shouldn't even be looking at mpg until after at least 2,000 when it's broken in properly, then you will be getting what it should get.

Far as my mpg, that's the last thing I bought the bike for

Last week I completely ran out of gas at 121 miles. Seems pretty low to me (no track days yet).

The last tank I have I did about the same as you. I travelled 150km and topped up slightly less than 10litres of fuel thats like 15kpl or 35mpg. However, I am not sure if I filled it up to almost the same level the other time. The on board dash states that I was using 5.2L/100KM which is around 20km/l as compared to what I calculated myself. Will be using up another tank over the weekend most likely. Will update the thread again on this. Anyway there seems to be another thread already been set up.

My dealer told me that the 899 has problems with the fuel indicator... and a software update is coming this week or next week..

I get an average of about 135kms before fuel light comes on. This was the same with my 848 but here in Hong Kong it's all city riding so always get crappy mpg.
On my car (BMW 335i) i get 200 miles (320kms) on a tank....i average about 13mpg!
At £1.31 (US$2.20) per litre, not great. Lucky we never have to go far to get anywhere!

Either you ride it hard or you must be always caught in traffic. Haha. Its pretty much the same as Singapore. I am getting 170kms before fuel light comes on. Fuel cost is just slightly cheaper than $2usd per litre. Haha.

Bit of both! Traffic is a bit easier in Singapore and you have bigger roads!

i get an average of around 46 mpg i had it as low as 38 and as high as 55. my light usually turns on at around 100 miles but when i fill up its only a 2 - 2 1/2 gallon fill up. i have ova 2k on the bike

I just checked mine for the first time last night, when I hit 600 miles. The light had been on for maybe 10 miles (and took longer to turn on than normal): 41mpg.

Does anyone have any fuel consumption data on the track. I don't like to run a bunch of extra fuel in the tank. Each session is about 20 miles so I'm thinking 1.5 gallons would be a real safe bet????
