Riding home from the dealership yesterday, I filled up at a gas station and when I took off, gas poured out from around the filler and all over my pants. It did it again today, WTF.

Anyone else had this issue with gas leaking all over the place?!

Did you click the gas link down and then pull the key out or fill it up too much so fuel sits around the top of the filler?

I only ever fill up to the bottom of the filler neck and that's off the bike so it's leaned. I've always only ever filled my bikes this way.

I seems like it's sealing at the cap but then BAM, free flow of crazy amounts of gas in my lap.

I'll contact the dealer today. I live 140 miles away tho :(

Might help to leave even more space when filling up, just to see if it's an issue due to how you're filling up.
I guess I will but I still think there is for sure a problem, my 848 never did this. Plus since I'm only touching the bottom of the filler neck filling on the kick stand, it's well below the neck when the bike is upright so I can't in my wildest imagination think I'm over filling it

I emailed the dealer this morning to get his opinion on if it's something he can fix during the 1st service while I wait since I live so far away.

Ok, check this **** out. I realized on my last ride that the gas isn't coming from the seal of the cap, but from around the outside edge of the entire gas door cover. I removed it and found absolutely no rubber seal, just bare metal and tons of gas!!!

Did Ducati forget to the put the seal in?! Hopefully my dealer can mail me one 2-day or something!

In the attached image you can see it as figure 13 in the blow apart diagram on page 108 of the parts book.

I just got off the phone with the owner of the dealership and he's going to take one off another bike and next day it to me tomorrow so I'll have it Thursday.

I freakin KNEW I wasn't trippin

How's that passed QC ffs, reflects bad on Ducati when they're sending bikes out with something missing!! What else could they "forget" to fit. Think that should be worth a carbon front fender of huger or something as a sorry from Ducati!!;)

I'm just happy the dealer is sending me one next day. A free polish and wax of my tank at the first service would be nice too as the gas has really dulled it's finish already. I'll prolly do that myself tho.

Def must be a late Friday shift build lol, I don't even want to wonder what else might be "forgotten"

I have about 220 miles on her now and everything else seems great, although I'm still not sure why the brights come on and stay on randomly by themselves and also turn off by themselves randomly

Lemon, lemon, lemon!

J/K, I accidentally turn my brights on and off pretty often. I'm still getting used to where the switch is located. Maybe that's what's going on?
