The sun finally came out yesterday, dry roads and decent temperatures for the time of year meant only one things, sod the garden, that can wait, time for a decent ride with a few mates.

With a couple of stops, 108 miles on and nearing the magic 600.

Got down to Whitchurch down the A49 and a few other detour country roads. This was the first real opportunity to put the bike through it's paces and it didn't disgrace. Even keeping it within reason (still running in) stayed right on the rear wheel of a mates RSV Factory and way ahead of another lads 848 Dark through some fast twisty sections. The bike felt planted and confidence inspiring, kept it in sport mode, using the QS made it fly around those lanes, perfect balance of power and agility. I've ridden these roads on a few different litre bikes, and the 899 felt the best of the bunch. The sound from the Termi's was just awesome..

Now booked in for the 1st service a week today, lets hope the weather stays good.

I took the opportunity. Added another 120 miles. Odo now showing 530 miles. First service book for next week. Shock due back from MCT this week so planning to see my Dad for his birthday. 270 round trip on Saturday so those revs will be rising pretty soon.
Love this bike. Far more comfy than I expected for my old bones. Almost as comfy as my RC8R that was the 899's predecessor.

Birmingham to Matlock. Over to Stratford then on to chipping norton and back. 200 miles of smiles. Service booked on Friday. 520 miles on clock now.

woohooo service light on…. managed over 200 miles in the last 2 days.

Means that my termis will fitted… deeelighted!!

Spent some time riding with some guys from my unit today. Put about 200 miles on. Great GA weather, 70 degrees and all that. Had a guy with an HP4 join us and I must say I was a bit jealous. That bike is simply amazing. Up to 1,300 miles now and I'll be on it again tomorrow.

MCT just called. My shock is done and being Fed-ex'd back. Be with me tomorrow. Result. £225 instead of £1200 for an Ohlins which in MCT's view would be little better for road and track day use.
