Honda, Yamaha, KTM,,,,,,,yeah exotic .........lolI just don't believe this diluting the brand BS. The best brands make bikes at the top and bottom of the market. Look at Honda or Yamaha or KTM. Brands like BMW and Ducati sell great bikes but they are missing out on a whole section of the market by not offering anything that's affordable.
In Australia Ducati has a 659 Monster which is a barely LAMS Qualified Motorcycle (for the overseas readers that means Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme; it is the learner category in Australia based on a specific power / weight ratio that all new motorcyclists must sit in for at least 12-36 months based on age)....How cool would it be if Ducati came out with a new Supermono to compete with these new high performance entry level bikes (Ninja 300, CBR 500, FZ6R, aforementioned RC390).
Probably a pipe dream but who knows.... didn't think Ducati would come out with a cruiser or Porsche would make an SUV either.
Yes, I agree on the RC390. A serious consideration for a track only bike. Not looked at performance specs and has potential for real fun riding for not being too mental on power. Especially as here in HK if not registered for road use, you don't pay any tax so will be about US$6,000.Well...I am very interested to see how the new KTM RC390 turns out (especially price wise). I'd say KTM is a premium brand that does well in the small bike category.
