Ducati has never done worse in a World Superbike season ever. Ducati has a reputation for for doing very well in the WSBK having won the title 14 of the 26 seasons that the competition has existed.
Duati rider Ayton Badovini is now 12th, and Ducati Alstare's star Carlos Checa has announced his retirement.
With space left on the team maybe one of us can get that dream job that we have always wanted.
I wonder if Ducati suffers from the same syndrome as Ferrari with F1. When Ferrari is eating everyones lunch in F1 their road cars are dreadful, when Ferrari is dreadful in F1 their road cars eat everyone elses lunch... LOL
Ducati has been churning out/developing some cool projects, wonder if its the same in Bologna as Maranello...
I assume that the fault is not the bike's which means it has to be the riders. With Ducati not just not winning but also falling to a record low, its not even like Ducati can blame the poor results on tougher competition or something. Hopefully its just a one-off bad season and the results don't continue into the next season. If they do than Ducati is going to have to go back to the drawing board and figure out a new strategy to get back to the top.
Ducati has chosen its riders for the 2014 and 2015 World Sueprbike seasons.
Welshman Chaz Davies was born in 1987 and is the World Supersport Champion, moving to WSBK one year later and scoring a victory in 2012 and three in 2013.
Davide Giugliano is an Italian who was born in 1989. He won the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup in 2011, and ended 2013 WSBK in the 6th position.
Both will be riding the Ducati 1199 Panigale motorcycle.
