I heard the stock tires are good for most riders, it really depends on what you want out of the 899 and if you actually take it to the track.

the stock tires are pretty darn good. next move up would be slicks.

Best to wait it out, see what reviewers have to say about the tires that come with the Ducati 899. Probably best to stick with them for a while, then upgrade, at least get to experience the bike how Ducati intended it to be at first

The Pirelli's won't last long at the track. Plan for slicks pretty soon if you'll be doing a lot of track days.

Probably best to have a set of track wheels for people that want to use it for both track and street.
