i only just realised the 899 is louder than the 1199, well at certain revs.
The dB stamp on both bikes reads:


1199 104dB(A) - 5375 rpm
899 108dB(A) - 5375 rpm

I cant imagine what the termi kit would do to the noise, as it already sounds like a 50. cal machine gun

I started one up today at my local dealer and while it has been a while since I started a 1199, I thought it sounded louder when I cracked the throttle. 4db isn't a huge difference so I'm not saying my ears are exceptional or anything. Just that it really caught me by surprise. Way louder than my current S1k.

please write a brief review after you have the termis fitted.I would be particularly interested in:

1. Noise at low/med/high rpm
2. Power delivery changes between 3000rpm-6000rpm and 6000rpm-9000rpm
3. Any change to throttle response/fuelling

What frasers did was added up all my accessories including the termis
And gave me one total price
Which I agreed on
And when I paid for my deposit
I asked for the list with prices
And they gave me a copy of what I got , but without the prices
I asked why no prices
They basically said , so I can't compare prices with else where,
Like if I bring in the parts myself

Which I'm not happy about, it wasn't the sales guy, was the guy that takes the $$$

But from what I recall , I paid something like $2600 for them installed , back in December

Just a suggestion, what about if we approached Frasers for a bulk purchase, say 5 termi kits including fitting?

Surely they would have to give us a discount.

The Termi's do sound awesome, mine were fitted when I picked the bike up so no comparison with the stock, I've so far willingly ridden without earplugs as I love the sound the bike makes and it's nowhere near as ear punishing as my 2010 Fireblade with a Taylormade system fitted. the Termi's do come with dab killer inserts, but don't think I'll be fitting them other than for noise level checks at track days!

108 db is a lot. To bad most weekend track days are restricted up to 85 or 90 db. So i guess i have to do weekdays where there is no limit on DB.

If i was getting the Termi's i would jump on that idea. But ive decided to go with the Akra's for the 899. As much as i love the termi sound i just love the finish and sound of the Akrapovics (quieter down low but a monster up top).

I'm still waiting to hear back from a few guys i know who import pipes. At the moment i think only the full system is available as i can't find the SKU for just a slip-on (unless a member here has the SKU for it).

So the full Akra with our Aussie exchange right now i'm guessing would be close to $5000.

yea but a 3 db jump is a doubling of the sound pressure, plus a +3 dB change = 1.23 times volume loudness
