Hello guys, I am new to this forum and first post.

I currently have a dilemma. I'm picking up a 899 next week but the color choice is difficult for me. Both the red and the white look amazing. I'm having trouble choosing. What color do you guys prefer, or what color do you have? Note: I currently have a ducati 848 pearl white, so gearing a little more torwards the red one.

I have a red. I love the 848 white scheme because of the red frame but the white 899 looks unbalanced to me with only the red wheels. I'm sure I'll get flamed for my opinion, but the white 899 looks like something a ricer would buy lol. Even given that I like the white 848 tho, I still had a red one

I have a white and I agree with 92gta, the red wheels looks off . But if I can powdercoat them black, it will be ridiculously tight!!! Maybe when I get new set of tires.

That would look REALLY awesome. I was admiring the white gloss 1199 that comes with black wheels at the dealership when I bought my 899, very sick looking color package.

I like both colors. The red has just been so overdone that I had to go with something different and more unique. Everything you add to the white just pops that much more. CF tank protector, Ducati Performance gas cap, CF tank sliders etc....IMO the red wheels are icing on the cake. Any other carbon fiber sets off the matte finish nicely. I had a tough time making that initial decision. For a while afterwards I was second guessing myself. Having had the bike for 4 months now I'm positive I made the right choice.

Besides, everyone knows the white one is faster!

The white on the 899 is unreal. Easily the best white you will ever find on any car, bike, boat plane whatever it is.

It's a nice matt white silk that you cannot being to appreciate in photos. The photos don't capture the white like your eyes do. See a white one in the sun next to a red one and you will know which one you will want right off the bat.

The wheels i like em. If they were black it would look like the 1199 or my current R1. As for the red. Well let me tell you, i was riding along and seen what i though was a red honda CBR coming the opposite direction. Until it got close i was like. Oh! its an 1199. LOL. So yeah, from a distance the Red 899 looks like a honda cbr.

Ah! That's not a derogatory term against Asians, its a term used in the car world for kids who buy low end cars and paint them crazy colors and put giants wings and tail pipes on them etc. Could be an old 80s BMW, a fox body Mustang, or a Honda. Basically a teenager who is trying to has the flashiest "look at me" car. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

Thanks for the images Oni. It does look completely different in the sun, and I'm sure pictures don't do it justice. All the 899s were in doors at the dealer, so it was hard for me to make a distinction. But unique is what I'm going for, so white it is. Don't get me wrong red is sexy as **** but white has a good uniqueness to it. Thanks for your replies guys, awesome forum.

The thing that put me off the satin white was how to look after it. On the red if you get a small scratch or rub mark its a case of polish out or touch in and cut back.

I was bothered that it would start to look bad after a while with knee marks and stuff on the tank although ventureshield or stomp grips would help.

It the pearl white had been gloss like the 1199 or the monster it would have been no contest and i would have painted the wheels

You make a great point pete, but I'm sure there are things that could prevent the knee marks on the tank, such as tank grips. In addition to that, I know when I get this baby, I will be taking very good care of her, which is one of the best aspects of owning a ducati (bonding time) . But thanks for the heads up, I will definitely keep it in mind.

I do like the white, and the demo bike I tried was the white, however, it's my 1st Ducati, so it just had to be Red, simples............
