I plan to dress my new (not yet ordered) 899 in all the carbon bits available from Ducati.

But i was wondering if any aftermarket parts are available. Not instead of the OEM parts but parts that Ducati does not produce.

Do you have any suggestions about aftermarket carbon parts in "as OEM" quality and with weave matching the Ducati stuff.

Also i am debating whether to give the parts a layer or two of clear lacquer to make it look like mode traditional Ducati carbon.

Good idea or not. What do you think?

Personally I like the look of gloss carbon on the red bike, and matte carbon on the white bike. There are tons of aftermarket carbon options out there, depends on whether you want "real" carbon, as Ducati sells, or "fake" carbon which is most of what you will see for half the price on eBay. Much of that is actually fiberglass and not carbon fiber. Biggest difference you would see is throwing the items on a scale. We had a carbon front fender from a 999 that a customer bought off of eBay, we weighed it next to the Ducati Performance one and the eBay fender weighted 3 times as much! It looked like carbon, but it wasn't carbon.

Thanks for your answer.

A bit confused though. When following this link. Do i then choose the manufacturer logoed with a yellow star or the one called Fullsix?
When you click on the Ducati link, and choose the 899 icon , all the ones that are there I think there are 9 , all of them do stuff ( or will be)for the 899.
The first two do the carbon stuff

CarbonVani Products

CabonVani offers excellent stuff. I fit the underside of the rear yesterday (although they make quality stuff, carbon is NEVER perfect, so I did have to widdle a little away with a razor blade..) I also fit the front instrument cover on. See pics below:

Conquest Carbon will have rear huggers available in about a week or two. Spoke to Steve from there on friday. Then you can get all parts from same supplier....consistency will be the key to good looks. It will be priced (so i am informed) at about £100 for rear hugger.

Brad on here has got an item from them and was happy with product.

I will be getting when available so pics will follow.
