Hi guy just joined up, got my Panigale the other day.

Does anyone know the Battery part number (stock) for the 899?
I just moved and don't have tools ATM to check. I'm planing on getting a Lithium soon.

Cheers. :D

An example of a great Li-Ion replacement is the Shorai LFX14A2-BS12
Thanks much appreciated.

Preferably buy a lithium phosphate (LiFePO4) battery with a cell balancing BMS (Battery Management System) Built in. If it doesn't say it has one them it probably doesn't.

A BMS greatly reduces the chance thermal run away (sub optimum) when your battery is being charged by your bikes regulator. Also if you always charge through a cell balancing BMS you have a good chance of getting double the battery lifespan.

Target lifespan should be 5-10 years i.e. a battery that lasts the life of your bike?

My FJR is 11 years old and my sv650 is 13 years old so what's the life of a bike :D

Good point. My 900SS is 16 years old....but I think that average life is probably about 10 years. Of course many get binned earlier than that and yours and mine last longer.

I can't find YT7B-BS-D, but i Can find YT7B-BS.

Is that 'D' number necessary?
I haven’t heard of a one with a D. When I changed mine, the yt7b-bs was what I used. Worked fine, no modifications needed.
