I just watched this ytd !!! They are funny ! Was kind of disappointed when he said there was a lack of power and push from the bike. Until he switched to RACE mode and went crazy. HAHAHA !

Yeah, nice to see him happy about the 899 after the big brother! His vids are worth watching, even though he rides a gixxer most of the time

At the beginning where he was bitching bout the power, I kept thinking he isn't even taking it into the upper power-band. Then he puts it in race mode and starts actually exploring the rev range lol. Total placebo between sport and race there mate! Personally, I don't find that race mode makes that quite bit of difference.

At least he isn't riding like a complete bloody **** thru traffic like he was in the 1199 video.

When did ~150bhp become 'lacking in power'? Rather, when did I get old enough to realize that there IS such a thing as too much...

Was relieved to see his change in opinion when he put it into "Race" mode. Really enjoyed seeing the difference between Sport and Race right there in the video, and I feel like I did see a difference.

I'm with you guys, their is a difference between the two setting, it's more lively, and this is still at the point where I'm running it in, can't wait for 600 miles to come up

I couldnt understand either what extra power he found in race mode .... thought it was 100% in both modes ! Good review though.

I thought that , perhaps with the DTC difference in the damp conditions made the response more snappy?

When you go in to customise your modes the wet, sport and track modes all have a different engine outputs as the default setting.

Wet - low
Sport - medium
Race - high

I'm assuming the bike that he tested is still using the factory default setting. Which would explain the performance difference even though both sport and race provide the full amount of HP.

So you are saying the engine output setting is nothing to do with the HP output ? what is it then ?

I'm assuming it is related to the throttle response and mid range power as the headline power is the same.
