Update

I finally have successfully completed 1199 engine Swap.

My 899 is now a 1199S - why ?

I love to build things I can say I built my bike from scratch.

All issues and electronics have all been sorted out a few expensive mistakes along the way live and learn .
Bike feels amazing and the power is unreal after loading tune.

I had the opportunity to
Build this bike with my G/F she rides an 899 and now wants an 1199 go figure. lol

If anyone decides to tackle a similar build shoot me your questions.

Parts you’ll need.
1199 engine.
1199 harness
1199 throttle bodies
1199 ECU - BBS - Dash . If you get these off the same bike less issues
1199 ABS module
1199 - front master to ABS module brake line
1199 - rear Master to ABS module brake line
Make sure to buy the correct parts for either - non ABS . Or ABS . Or S model . I learnt the hard way.

If you search hard enough you can find great deals online - red lock tight everything.
Take your time and drink wine will help when you smash your knuckles.
Can use 899 Callipers and disks if wanted.

Did you weigh SSSA vs 899 swingarm I'd be interested in the weight difference.

Thankyou

I would love to know what is the benefit of modding the 899 to a single arm? It's awesome to see folks do this build, but sometimes I wonder, after time and money spent, why not just trade your 899 for another model (i.e. 1199)? Is this purely for aesthetics?

It’s about 1 pound , you won’t notice performance unless install 1199R swing arm which is adjustable can bit harder for traction .

It’s more cosmetic and a fun project

It’s a project , would of been cheaper to buy 1199 however I built it 100% myself .
Now I’m in the process to learning how to tune it will woolich software .

I guess it’s a pride thing , lol.
