Hi, just got a 2015 899 Panigale and I have a quick question regarding the gear shift lever: is it normal for it to have about 5mm vertical play? Everything is tight on the outside (quickshifter, rod end bearings, etc), the play comes from the gear shaft itself, which has a bit of free rotational play compared to other bikes I owned (including other Ducatis).

Mine does have a little rotational play as well as my buddy's 1199. Not sure on the vertical play. I would have to go check that out.

To be clear: what I'm saying is that the vertical play observed at the tip of the gear lever is caused by rotational play on the gear shaft. There's some additional play caused by the rod ends on the linkage, but it's minimal. I was wondering if this play is normal on the 899. You seem to confirm it is, so no need to check anything else. Thx.
