Oh No, Not Again – Ducati 899 Panigale: Japan Edition

I read about this somewhere else. Regulations make it so that the Japanese have to fit this ugly silencer onto the exhaust in order for the 899 Panigale to be legal in Japan. It seems like such a crime to put that thing on the exhaust. It ruins the whole bike.

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

The real reason for it isnt noise, its because they know all the riders in Japan will buy an 899 instead of any of the big 4 unless they make it fuglerific.

This is the real deal..even for the 1199s! Overall power is also detuned for emissions purpose. they could at least incorporate the long pipe into the design without having the original underbody exhaust.

I'm guessing in the same vein as the massive plastic rear fender than my bike rolled out of the dealer with. The dealer wasn't allowed to remove it but gave me all I needed to remove it...

It is a seriously ugly exhaust like that!!!
