Is that exactly how they packed the 899 in that box or did they have some cover over the bike that was removed before the photo was taken?

Yup. Heard they arrived this week in so cal. Happy riding! Unfortunately for me, mine is in the second batch to arrive at the dealer I have a deposit with. I checked Bert's in Covina web site and they show 5 for sale in red now.

Yea it came with them.

My first impression... I love it. The powerband is really street friendly and the riding position is pretty comfortable. It can get hot like the 1199 (probably not as hot) if you have to sit in stop and go traffic but that hasn't bothered me at all.

My name is Eric from Los Angeles California. My first bike was a kawasaki zx9. I have recently started looking into several bikes, all 3 are very different. Please give me your honest opinion of the 899 and if you are having heat issues. I looking to purchase one but unsure at this point. It will not be a daily rider but as you know LA traffic in bad. How is the comfort riding position? How does it compare to the bmw s1000rr, and kawasaki zx10r?
