600 Mile Service

Got my 600 mile service done yesterday. Yes, I have only put 600 miles on the bike since late November.

Everything was fine but they found something with some cables related to the exhaust. They said if the problem persists it will require a replacement motor.

Loving the bike more and more everyday!

Congrats! I only have 1,035 miles since Jan 18th so I'm not riding too much yet either...

"some cables related to the exhaust"

Do you mean like melted electrical wires?
I picked my bike up today. The dealer had fitted the new termi's and gave me a box with the old parts. There is a little black box about 4"x4" with an electric motor and a cable about 18" long. Not sure what it is.

How do you like the termis? Compared to stock
Just had my 600 mile service done - exhaust valve seized. Seized open I believe, so I hadn't actually noticed. Replacement ordered for replacement under warranty.

Wow ...As much as I like that bike every time I get on this forum I read about things that makes me wonder ? 600 miles and seized valves ? Did Harley Davidson bought Ducati out ? Only other bikes with that many issues out of the box are Harley's.

Also consider that no one is posting up "hey guys, just wanted to let you know I have had zero problems". I have had no problems up to the 1,100 mile mark, just some food for thought.
That's a good point. People tend to be more vocal when there are problems. It is also human nature to recall bad news more vividly than good.

Unfortunately the snow has kept me from riding at all.

Yeah I think you're right . Also most of the problems looks like shows during the warranty period and it's a good think Ducati has 2 years warranty . I would hate to buy the bike and spend time taking it to be fixed than to ride it...especially for the price tag that bike has.
My dealer was telling me about an extended warranty program where you just pay a certain amount and you get an additional 1-year extended warranty.
I believe (If I understood the dealer correctly) that you can extend your warranty anytime before the original 2 year warranty expires. The dealer wrote the date down for me so I can decide at a later time whether it's worth dropping the extra coin, plus it gives me two years to feel out all of the bikes issues.

The cables I was referring to are related to the exhaust valve as others have mentioned.
Does anyone from the uk know how much the 600m service is roughly?

Ok great thanks. Had a funny feeling it was going to be a lot more like £300-£400.

I had to pay $350, they wanted $394. That also included $50 labor for setting up my suspension custom for me tho.

Mine is booked in for its 600 miler in 2 weeks and they have quoted me £165 all in which seems a bit steep for an oil change but its menu servicing and i need it for the warrenty.

On the plus side they said I can take the new Monster 1200S out for a play while they do it :D

Now that definitely makes it worth it
