Just wanted to say hey as a new 899 owner. I found valuable information here prior to making my decision. This is my second Ducati - first being a 2008 1098. I sold my 1098 because it was literally too hot to ride in the summer and every attempt to remedy did not seem to help. I surely hope I made the right decision as this bike does pump out some heat. I did notice on the demo ride that the heat seemed to disappear at red lights. That was my primary complaint on the 1098, so that is a plus.

I have never been one for forums as never wanted to feel too 'nerdy' but having now got my 899 after owning an 848 (which was sold on thursday) I have fallen in love with it. Also not being too keen on adding loads of aftermarket parts previously, i now look forward to making my bike even more of a head turner than it already is with shiny things!
Enjoy the new love in your like and ride safe!
Congrats and welcome. Heat seems to be the nature for the beast with supersports bikes. My 2006 R1 was stupid hot in the summertime. It didn't bother me so much because I did not commute on it and I wear full leather. I tried wearing jeans once and my little swimmers burst into flames. Read the hot seat thread. My experience on the 899 Pani so far riding in 74 degree weather, no heat. This bike seems to run cooler than my R1.
My R6 got very hot especially when fuel was low.
Welcome to the forum, great choice of bike

How much did you sell your 1098 for? I have an 848 that I'm selling because I'm getting the 899. Want to see if I'm selling it for the right price.

Want to say 12,500 ... came with woodcraft rearsets, gp shift, and only 4500 miles for a 2008. Hope that helps.
