Dash noise while ignition on?

Hi guys got my 899 yesterday and I love it.

The only question I have right now is, while in the shed I put the ignition on and let it run it's diagnostic. After all the lights are done flashing and such the dash continues to make a high pitch whining sound, it's not loud and you do have to put ur ear up next to it when it's out in the open.

I just wondered if it's normal and was hoping someone wouldn't mind putting their ear up agains the dash and having a little listen for me!

Cheers guys!

Dougie

This is totally normal for dot matrix liquid crystal displays, especially ones that large. Even alarm clocks with screens that big make the same noise.

Funny you mention it because I noticed it as a little kid on stuff and most people cannot hear it. Seems to be just out of their ears range of hearing. However some LCDs don't make this noise, or it's too faint for even me to hear. So not everything like that does.

No clue frankly, I've never listened for it. Perhaps I will this weekend in my garage but I know my 848's dash did.

Lol I'm new to the forum so not sure if there is an instant message function for people who are online, just so I can ask some others before I make a treck to my dealer

Mine makes that high pitched noise while on, I just start her up, that usually takes care of it
