Full comp insurance is your best security.

Honestly if someone wants to steal your bike they will just pick it up and put it in a truck. Nobody is going to stop them.

If you do want some added security (helps keep insurance prices down) get a tracker installed and motion sensors that send sms to your phone if the bike is moved. Avoid the Ducati alarm systems. They are not that great.

Chains and disk locks are pointless, the bike has an immobilizer so they can't joy ride it and if they wanted to move it, all they need to do is lift the front or back and put wheels underneath it (like a skateboard) and off they go up a ramp into a truck.

It's not about how fast you ride, but how you ride fast.

Current Bikes
Yamaha R1 '10, Ducati 899 Panigale '14
Previous Bikes
Yamaha Zeal 250 '99, Kawasaki ZXR 750 '91, Yamaha R6 '99, Yamaha R6 '03 & '04

I just installed 'RIDE' which is made by Scorpio. The full kit offers tilt, shock, proximity sensors, an 125db siren, TPM sensors, two way key chain device and GSM gps tracking. It was a lot to hide underneath everything but it was the most comprehensive security package I could find.. whenever anything touches the bike it sends me an sms, email, and the app pops up an alert. Overall was about sixty dollars more then the ducati alarm and a hella lot more value.

you can get the BASIC system for $220, the full system was around $470. There is a $10.95 / month fee for the cellular use
