How they ever sold a Panigale in Japan is beyond me.

The 959 will have a double exhaust on one side. It will be replaceble by a Termi which will fit just like it does on the 899.

My Ducati dealer saw it on a trip to Italy. In his opinion the exhaust looks terrible compared to the one on the 899, which I can imagine.

I doubt very seriously that they will do this.

Ducati is probably going to put a large catalytic converter where the exhaust is now to facilitate the exterior two pipe configuration. The new Multistrada has a huge catalytic converter to meet the new Euro 04 standards.

The stock exhaust sounds awful but my money is that it'll look just like the spy images, which looks just like the 1299.

I'm not a fan of the front fairing either. The original fairings just seemed more elegant to me, the new ones are more... Brutish? Maybe that's just me?

I am wondering why the exhaust and / or (at least) DP upgrade would not be an Akrapovic exhaust with accompanying upmap instead of the Termignoni... Similar to the 1299?

Sorry, he's wrong by the looks of the spy pics. You now have reason to doubt whatever else he says.
