Streetz's 899 Panigale Build Thread

Hello everyone!

I figured I'd start a build thread to document my 899 and meet all the members here.

I picked up my 2014 AWS 899 in December of 2016. Bike had 370 miles.

I am a fabricator so I figured I'd get to work on a rear stand. I wanted it to be as compact as possible and also lift the bike higher than most stands I've seen. Let's get on to some pics!

First couple nights were spent inside the house of course!

Basic design

Machining slot in some 1018 steel stock

Engraving company logo

Machining complete

Tubing caps with locating webs

1/2"-13 Nut welded to bottom

Machining tubing for axle bushings

Components layed out

Tubing capped

Axle bushings welded

Laser cut forks welded onto machined parts

Straight tubing welded to bent piece

All assembled!

You might find slightly narrower wheels but two per side (one either side of the uprights) will work better in the long run.

Thanks everyone!

New additions include axle sliders and a set of machined pegs.

Starting to warm up a bit here in NY, itching to get out there again.

Here are some pics. Bike is so photogenic
